The Skyline Motel caters to these customers. Annually they send out several hundred postcards to past customers and those that inquire at Price County Tourism Bureau. Information on the Tourism lists is available to businesses. These inexpensive postcards the Skyline Motel sends out bring customers. FORGOT TO MENTION IN OUR BROCHURE: By the way the County Snowmobile Trail runs just in back of the Skyline Motel where sleds can get on the trail directly from the motel property!

===============
You can download a Snowmobile Trail Map at: http://www.pricecountywi.net/snowmo.html

The tourism site says: "With 500 miles of meticulously groomed trails and fewer riders, Price County offers many unique ways to enjoy your snowmobile adventure in the Northwoods! Ride our trails this season and leave the crowds behind! Price County, Wisconsin trails were referred to as Priceless! by American Snowmobiler (Nov. 2006) stating they offer "many trail options, fewer crowds". Opportunities include trails through the 800,000 acre Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, the Tuscobia State Trail from Park Falls to Rice Lake, the Pine Line Trail from Prentice to Medford, including a side trip to Timm's Hill, and numerous connecting trails as well as quality food, lodging and services in area communities making Price County the perfect snowmobile destination!

January 20, 2008

Chatted with Ira and he reports that sales so far in January are at $7,000±. On track for January and given two weekends left this month probably will exceed last years January sales. Snowmobiliers and commercial guests in town for business are the leading customer types.

Year End 2008 Report

For 2009 we have started Blog Report on our listings so you can hear "up-to-date" information on our motel/hotel listings. Here's the update on the Skyline Motel at Phillips, Wisconsin which we put for sale this Fall.

This is a GREAT first motel for a family operator and it includes a full sized 3 Bedroom attached home. Most motels have living quarters that are much smaller. There are lots of details at our web page: www.gudim.com about the motel so check that out.

Owners Ira and Lucy advise that their 2008 sales are in at: $178,450 up from 2007 by about $8,500±. In this past year many motels are down 10-15% because of the "national economy". . . . .Not because of anything the motel owners are doing! To be UP for 2008 is SPECTACULAR! Business is good in Phillips, WI due to a good local mix of 'lodging generators': the major companies in town, highway location with travelers, recreation attractions and a very decent community.

Overall for 2008 we have seen fewer prospective purchasers because many people are being cautious in this "uncertain economy". This is very understandable. However if your friends or you have been laid off or cutback on your job consider getting your own business and look into motels/hotels. Give me a call with your questions.
